Dick Singer must go!
Until recently, I really respected the man. The Monrovia City Web site is one of the best in the area. Great info. He seemed to do well, towing a line of balance in an obviously politcally tinged position.
But, his "Ministry of Truth" routine, as one local blog calls it, has gotten out of hand.
The errors and arrogance of the Rumor Control box on the City Web site are shocking. On Jan 3, the Blog referred to another blog as the one that "usually gets things wrong." When does a City ever cast official comment on the conduct of a legal operating entity? NEVER!
When we on Primrose Avenue rose up to express our disgust at the City's inaction on our speeding problem, he didn't ensure that MPD put on a good show, he passed out platitudes and said it was "good for us to be in the process" - but said there would be no stop signs and made no indication of stepping up to solve the problem.
Now he removes a legitimate news organization from a public meeting? This is the face of the City? Our best foot forward?
And, never mind the hilarity of the front-page quote from the Sheriff's Department that there is a full-on race war, while the City's "official" position is that it is not a racial issue. Unreal. disgusting.
Singer & Ochoa quote Confucious (yes, really) while the cops are speaking hard, bloody truths.
The spin, lies and obfuscation must end. And that will only happen when Dick Singer is gone.
Wow, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
